Guest Post from Leo Dion- Organizer of Mobile Mondays Lansing

On Tuesday, April 12, the Michigan Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC), the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM) and Logic Solutions are partnering to host a Mobile App Bootcamp. Designed to help non-technical entrepreneurs in any industry who want to take advantage of the functions and features of mobile technologies and the flexibility they provide, the event will take place from 10:00am – 3:00 pm at the Technology Innovation Center in Lansing Michigan.

So why should you attend? Well here are 5 reasons you’ll want to attend this event:

  • You’ve got a great idea!

Entrepreneurship in Michigan is growing at a rapid pace and data is showing that a majority of these entrepreneurs want to make use of mobile/wireless technologies as part of their business model. As MTAM CEO/Executive Director, Linda Daichendt says “This workshop is designed to help them overcome that challenge by gaining the expertise needed to work with an outside development firm, or to hire the quality tech staff needed, or to identify a suitable technical co-founder.”

  • Whatever startup you may have, mobile is going to be a part of it

The demand for access to information through mobile technologies such as smartphones, connected cars and machine-to-machine/Internet of Things is surging among consumers and businesses.  Regardless of your industry, your new startup is going to touch on mobile technology in some way and this will be a great opportunity for you to get a basic primer.

  • Meet other entrepreneurs using mobile tech

The event will take place from 10:00am – 3:00 pm at the Technology Innovation Center here in Lansing Michigan. This is a great opportunity to meet and network with other entrepreneurs in the Lansing area who may be focusing on mobile technology as well.

  • Meet folks with the technical expertise you need

There will be a great lineup of speakers and some great volunteers who can help you with mobile technology including:

Speakers for the event will include:

  • Keith Brophy, State Director of the Michigan Small Business Development Center
  • Linda Daichendt, CEO/Executive Director for the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan
  • Al Carpinelli, Business Development Manager for Logic Solutions
  • Angela Kujava, Director of Innovation for Logic Solutions
  • Matt Sarkesian, Chief Technology Officer for Logic Solutions

You’ll be able to learn and connect with these folks on how mobile technology will fit with your startup.

  • This may be the only chance to get technical and startup help

The workshop will focus on developer basics (understanding app developers and how to work with them to get what you want), creating a value proposition, defining app functionalities, setting priorities, and learning to wire-frame your concept. However the Michigan Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC), the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM) and Logic Solutions are partnering to host this event so not only can you get help from technology experts, but there will also be great folks from SBDC as well.

“We encourage any entrepreneur with a great idea involving mobile/wireless technologies to take part in this Bootcamp, they’ll walk away with a plan that can help them move forward,” says MTAM CEO/Executive Director, Linda Daichendt.

Registration is limited to 40 people.  So if you are interested, register today at http://dld.bz/epNnc.
