Does your business involve mobile technology in any way? Are you considering building an app for your business? With more people using their mobile devices even more complex mobile devices out there, the need for mobile expertise and education has grown.
Well, beginning this September, Mobile Mondays are returning to Lansing.
With a new Steering Committee Chairperson in Leo Dion, CEO of Lansing-based BrightDigit and Chief Experience Officer for East Lansing’s DriverOnTap, Mobile Monday will provide a platform focused on mobile/wireless tech where people can go to get advice, make connections, learn about the latest in mobile/wireless tech, and gain new opportunities in the Lansing tech community.
Meetings will be every fourth Monday located at Room 300 in the East Lansing TIC, provided by LEAP and sponsored by RMC with the first meeting on September 28 at 7pm. Jeff Imholz, WebSphere Technical Specialist with IBM will share the IBM perspective on the Internet of Things and how it’s being interpreted in the enterprise space.
All Mobile Monday Lansing events will be FREE to attend.
Mobile Monday Michigan is a subsidiary of the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM), and the local branch of the international Mobile Monday Organization. It is an open community of mobile/wireless industry visionaries, developers and influencers – from all industries – who meet regularly at networking/education-focused Meetups for idea sharing, product demos, trends discussion, educational presentations, networking and more.

The Mobile Monday fall series continues on October 26, with Steering Committee Chairperson, Leo Dion who will be speaking on the AppleWatch, and on November 23rd Richard Geyer, Engineering Lead for Microsoft Technologies at Vectorform will be speaking on Wearables.
MTAM Executive Director, Linda Daichendt says, “We’ve had many requests from members of the Lansing tech community to get the chapter active again, now we have someone from the area willing to help us lead that effort. It’s very important to us that we have local leadership running these chapters because they are more aware of the needs of the local tech community. However, Leo can’t do it alone and we’re certainly hoping some other members of the Lansing tech community will volunteer to assist this effort as well.”
Mobile Monday is currently looking for committee members, speakers, and anyone with ideas on how to help support Mobile Monday Lansing.
