We love hearing about the amazing things our Spotlights get up to, and Courseweaver has been one busy Startup!
Courseweaver is a cloud-based class, homework and testing solution that offers class templates, tools for exam creation, embedded textbook materials and more. When they were a featured Spotlight, their goal was to revolutionize education, and they are now well on their way to doing just that.
They have received great press and were recently featured in Crain’s Detroit Business
Since being featured they have formed numerous partnerships that will benefit both parties, get Courseweaver out there and spread their name. Those partnerships include:
Michigan Virtual University (MVU):
They closed a distribution agreement that will help incorporate CW into all K-12 schools in Michigan (about 1,000 in total). MVU will also provide a number of free staff to aid in development of the new system, as well as all marketing resources and technical infrastructure. Additionally, MVU’s CEO, Jamey Fitzpatrick, will facilitate introductions to his statewide counterparts outside the State of Michigan.
OpenStax:
OpenStax provides a homework/exam system to go along with their textbooks, as well as incorporates the textbook content into the system. Courseweaver and OpenStax are sharing customer contacts and joint marketing efforts.
They have also launched a K-12 Nationwide Free Offering. The launch was for the current school year and they will continue to offer free use for struggling schools.
